M-DCPS Licensing works with local schools, community stakeholders, retail and manufacturer partners to identify and cultivate new consumer product companies that can bring value to the M-DCPS brand base. Companies can pursue a license in 1 of 18 licensing categories :
Wholesale manufacturer – Allows a company to purchase a license to produce products bearing the M-DCPS trademarks of select schools for sale at wholesale prices to approved retail locations. The manufacturer must collect the royalties for the products that are being purchased by approved retailers. Internal M-DCPS purchases – Allows a company to purchase a licensee to produce product bearing the M-DCPS trademarks of select schools, internal departments and related district entities for internal consumption only; Licensee holders can only provide products at wholesale prices directly to internal M-DCPS customers.
